What is the EYP?
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a network of non-profit organisations present in 40 European countries. The EYP has been present in Romania since 2007, empowering hundreds of young people to become open-minded and active citizens through non-formal, youth-led activities.

1. What is an EYP ‘session’?
EYP events are often referred to as ‘sessions’, mainly consisting of local, regional or national conferences lasting between one and five days. During these sessions, the Delegates are divided into committees similar to those in the European Parliament. Each team must find solutions for a problem the European Union is currently facing. At the end of the conference, the solutions proposed by each committee are debated in a General Assembly. At EYP we value teamwork, inclusion and cultural exchange. That’s why all of our conferences are held in a relaxed, tolerant manner and include many fun activities.
2. Who can join EYP Romania?
Whereas the EYP as a whole welcomes youth with ages ranging roughly from 14 to 25, for now EYP Romania’s events are generally tailored to the 14-21 age range. Anyone within this age bracket can join regardless of their academic or volunteering background- all you need is enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and intermediate English skills!
3. How can I become a member of EYP Romania?
One can become an EYP Romania member after participating in at least one of our sessions. 4. Why should I become a member?
Becoming a registered member will allow you to unlock your full potential within EYP, offering you access to platforms and groups where you can learn about new opportunities. Additionally, you will become part of a vibrant community at both a national and international level, where you can connect with like-minded peers. and potentially shape the future activities and governance of EYP Romania.
5. What can EYP teach me?
The EYP will provide you with invaluable experience, skills and knowledge, ranging from European politics, intercultural communication, and time management to media production, event management, and academic writing. Each role has a different purpose and teaches you a different set of skills, and the international environment comprising hundreds of young people from all over Europe is sure to widen your horizons!
6. Which languages are spoken in the EYP?
English is the working language of the EYP. Whereas we celebrate the diversity of cultures that we have within the network of 40 European countries, we use British English as the official language for any event.
