EYP Romania

The EYP has been present in Romania since 2007 and revamped its structure in 2023, becoming an internationally recognised National Committee in October 2024. Our mission is to encourage peer-to-peer education, active citizenship and intercultural dialogue through youth-led events. We are dedicated to offering young people from Romania and abroad the chance to develop their knowledge and skills while also making unforgettable memories and lasting friendships.

Our core values include democracy, pluralism, multiculturalism, and tolerance. We take active measures to ensure that EYP Romania is a safe space where everyone feels respected, empowered, and celebrated. We believe that cooperation is key in society’s efforts to build a sustainable and democratic future, therefore teamwork lies at the heart of all of our activities.

Functioning entirely on a voluntary basis, we offer a wide range of opportunities. We organise local, regional, national, as well as online events, where we invite experts and experienced EYPers that have powerful stories and valuable knowledge to impart. EYP Romania’s conferences also welcome participants from all over Europe, as we also send delegations to international events abroad.

Our ever-growing community of over 200 members and more than 20 Alumni can attest to the benefits of getting involved with EYP. While some have just begun their journey with EYP Romania, others have concluded their chapter active involvement within the organisation. Nonetheless, what unites all members of the EYP Romania family is an appreciation for our shared values and our eagerness to welcome as many newcomers as possible!

Key facts about us

  • Non-Formal Education: Our programmes allow participants to learn and develop a diverse set of skills through a fully immersive social, cultural and educational programme.

  • Membership: We currently have over 200 active members, with varying levels of experience and interests. You can find more information about membership in the FAQ section.

  • Engagement: We currently organise around ten events of different scales and durations each year, engaging hundreds of participants from all over Romania and Europe.

  • Voluntary: We function on a voluntary basis, driven by our common endeavour to empower fellow youngsters.

  • Outreach and Inclusion: One of our main goals is to make non-formal education accessible, therefore we are trying our best to reach people from as many regions and social backgrounds as possible.

  • Connection to the Network: EYP Romania welcomes international Delegates and Officials at most of its events, and sends Romanian delegations to conferences abroad.
